Southern Water Alkham Valley IRP The village green and football field flooding appears to have stabilised but Southern Water continue to pump out the sewage system 24hr a day. They have reported that a survey will be carried out to assess where the flood water is leaking into the sewers.
On 23th February 2024 for about a day, workmen were seen trimming trees branches near power lines on Alkham Valley Road by Newlyns Meadow.... This will hopefully help reduce the likelihood of power cuts caused by trees contacting overhead power lines during inclement weather.
Kent County Council gives notice that: Wolverton Hill, Alkham The road will be closed at Wolverton Hill, Alkham. The alternative route is via Belsey Lane, Ferne Lane, Warren Lane, Slip Lane and Alkham Valley Road. It is planned that the road will be closed between 8:00 hrs and 16:00 hrs each day. This closure is necessary to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out by Kent County Council.
