Alkham nestles between the busy towns of Dover and Folkestone in Kent, the village of Alkham resides in the Alkham Valley.
The Alkham Valley is an agricultural area with chalk downlands and ancient woodland. The valley is recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and along with ancient wooded areas it also boasts Special Landscape Areas, Sites of Scientific Interest, Conservation Areas and 17 Grade II listed buildings.
Alkham offers a variety of good quality accommodation, a garden centre with tea rooms, equestrian centres, a restaurant, a church and a well-equipped village hall. The Village Green has play equipment with lovely picnic spots and there is a good sized car park in Hogbrook Hill Lane.
There are beautiful walks through the valley on both sides, and information on walking routes can be found on the noticeboard adjacent to the car park.
